w7 In The Nude Eyeshadow Palette Reviews/Lots Of Swatches

My first real post after my long hiatus from blogging. Figure might as well go all in with a product I recently purchased. 

     That product is w7's In The Nude Palette. Honestly, I was recently playing around online. Just watching random Youtube videos and actually kinda doing a little bit of research about Youtube as I consider making a channel. As I was looking I started hearing about w7 and their product line. Now unfortunately these product are not available in the United States, in fact this product line can only be found in the United Kingdom. (Insert sad face here). 

     Anyway, thank you internet, a few clicks later and I'm on Amazon ordering w7's palette, In The Nude. From all of the reviews and such I've heard comparisons to Urban Decay's Naked palette line. I leave my views on that till later in my review. Now lets move on to the swatches and colors found in w7's In The Nude Palette. 

     The palette is cased in an aluminium tin, the palette includes 12 pans of shadows and the palette itself weighs 15.6 g (or 0.55 ounces). I purchased this palette for around $8.50 and this included shipping from England. Can I just say awesome, and holy budget friendly!!

Onto the contents of this palette:

Latte

Swatch:

It's a cream colored nude and didn't sow up too well in my swatches in photo. It is also a complete matte so in photo, it just looks like a skin color variation.

Angel

Swatch:

If you do not want a glittery product then Angel isn't for you. There is a subtle pink powder to it but the glitter is just what this "color" is. I love it though and it has the feel of a small cosmetic glitter. A smooth consistency not chunky at all.

Venice

Swatch:

A light romantic pinkish rose hue with a bit of shimmer. Simple as that.

Marilyn

Swatch:

A light pinkish/purple matte. This is very light and actually goes with my skins undertone. Thus, I don't know how much justice my swatches do for this color. Also, this color made me think that there might be some sort of coating on top of the matte colors. Such as a spray finish or something that you have to work your way through, in order to get the true color payoff from some of the mattes in this palette. This would be my number one issue with this palette.

Copper Pot

I'm in love with the color payoff I get from this. This photo doesn't really do this payoff justice. It's name fits the color. A copper tone color with shimmer. 

Sun Kissed

Swatch:

Now this is a wonderful gold hue with shimmer. It's the color I was most looking forward to from this palette. It gives off a very true gold color, which can be hard to find sometimes. This is actually my personal favorite from this palette overall.

Alice

Swatch:

This is a pale violet color and is also a matte. With this I've had no issue with lack of color payoff. For which I am extremely happy. Very romantic and feminine. It gives a depth in the richness of the color you get.

Bad Manners

Swatch:

Bad Manners is a great color it's a taupe with a hint of pink. It has a lovely blue and purple incandescent shimmer. I don't really know if this photo shows that off. This incandescent shimmer provides this color with some real depth and looks great on the eyes. This is one of the top colors out of eye shadow that I own.

Coffee Cup

Swatch:

A light bronze shimmer, can be built upon to enhance the look or a great neutral for day to day wear. The color can work from day to night wear easily. Once again wonderful color payoff with or without a primer.

Mud Slide

Swatch:

This looks and feels like a slightly darker version of Coffee Cup, it’s verging on a more chocolate type hue. It also has a shimmer, but the shimmer looks more understated to me.

Tokyo

Swatch:

Once again this has even less of a shimmer to it then Mud Slide did. This is a somewhere between a chocolate and a grey. Great for a less traditional smoky eye.

Fashionista

Swatch:

A taupe with a red incandescent shimmer. Loving this color mainly because you can actually get the red incandescence to show in the color when you wear it. I have this type of hue in other palettes I own and this is the first in which I can actually see that shimmer when I use the color and not just in the pan, where it usually stays. This quality alone makes this my second favorite color from this palette.

     

     All of these colors have great color payoff, the mattes are even good although some do have almost a chalky overcoat at first. Talc is the main product used in this palette. The shadows feel smooth and come off pure and true in color, to what you see in the pan, instead of cakey or streaky. At $8.50, this palette feels like such a great steal, there are some who sell it higher such as around $12.50 or have you pay shipping. Even then I still feel this palette is so worth it. I’m really hoping to purchase more from w7 including the other palettes from this line, In The Buff and In The Night. Do I think this palette is better then Urban Decay's Naked Palette or a 100% dupe? No, however, I do think that it is a wonderful, comparable, and far more pocketbook friendly product.

Over 500 Views & A New Computer!!! -UPDATE-

     Over 500 views!!! I cannot believe it. Thank you all so much, for reading my opinions and thoughts and random ramblings. I really hope I've helped some of you make your way through the world of beauty in an easier fashion. I never saw myself as being, by any means a talented writer, and never saw myself getting so many views, when I started this blog back in December.

     I'm considering maybe entering into the world of Youtube videos, but I really don't know if I'll be any good to watch or if anyone will take interest. I'll keep you all posted about it here, so keep your eyes opened. Also let me know if you'd be interested...

     Anyway, my laptop and main home computer died on me a while back, just recently have I acquired a new one. The downside of this is that I haven't been able to post for a while...the plus side however is that I have a backlog of content that I plan to start posting. Now some of this may include products that aren't new to the market. I hope some of this will be interesting none the less.

     I also have a few posts covering more of my go to products. There are also quite a few new products that I have purchased, as well, really looking forward to sharing some of those. With the holidays right around the corner I also plan on reviewing various gift sets as I've seen a lot popping up at my local drug and department stores. Some awesome looking stuff coming out by e.l.f, Wet N Wild, L.A. Colors that I'm already eyeing.

Also feel free to let me know what you'd like to see. I really do read feedback and take all thoughts into consideration.

Summer Lovin'

With the change in the weather to summer, I must admit that my makeup use tends to taper off. By that I mean that I usually will not do a full face look. If you took a look in my purse during the summer, you'd see a few different moisturizing lip balms if I want some sort of color, and a couple of chapsticks. During the summer I find that my lips usually feel really dry and at times it is so bad that it feels like they are cracking, so chapstick or lip protector is a huge deal for me. Also having something with some spf when you know that being outside a lot is really important. For chapsticks I usually reach for the medicated formula by Chapstick. I also usually have a Babylips by Maybelline in my purse, for a pop of color I have Grape Vine, and for moisture Quenched, for some freshness Peppermint.

     In the summer I try to wash my face at least twice a day, however, with my combination skin type, I'll skip the morning if my skin is super dry that day. Anyway, I also try to incorporate a face safe moisturizer with a bit of spf into my routine. With this simple step your skin will thank you later, with it's more youthful appearance. Skin cancer is a part of my families medical history, so I try to be aware and take care. Cetaphil, Aveeno and Olay all have really great spf moisturizers that are budget friendly. I've also been thinking about Yes To Carrots.

     After moisturizing if I really have some blemishes that I want to cover, I will apply a BB cream. Currently I have Garnier in light/fair, but sometimes it oxidizes to a different color than my skin tone, so I'll just spot treat and use less product to just even out my skin tone.

     Either way, with or without the BB cream step, I will always try and do an eye look even if it's just a basic neutral smokey eye. For this I have a slew of Wet n Wild Color Icon palettes, the ones I gravitate to the most are: 8 pan - Comfort Zone, 3 pan - Sweet As Candy, 8 pan - Petal Pusher, 6 pan - Vanity, I also adore the 3 pan palette in I'm Feeling Retro. For another budget option I also wear colors from fellow beauty blogger and also Youtube beauty guru Judy Travis's ItsJudyTime's palette from BH cosmetics. I've been following Judy's Youtube and blog for a while now. She actually inspired me to start blogging myself. Anyway, top off my eye look with some mascara, Great Lash by Maybelline and I'm all set.

My First Experience...ZOYA First Impression with Pics.

I don't own many higher end nail polishes, most polishes I own came from the drug store and cost at most five bucks. I just find spending so much on one polish to be a little crazy, especially cause I'm in college and definitely on a budget. So a couple of months ago when I received a ZOYA polish in my ipsy bag, lets just say I was super pumped about trying it out.

     The color I received is called Odette, which is a muted purple hue. Work friendly, not too eye catching, just a violet/purple. So today I finally had the chance to try it out an while the color is stunning, I will say I'm a bit disappointed when it comes to application. I've heard from some people who have used ZOYA that it can be a very one coat friendly polish. Lets just say my polish is not one of those.

     I forgot to take a picture after one coat but I'm just going to say my nails looked like a mess. I'm not a fan of the tiny brush that Zoya polishes have, precision is all well and good, but I'd rather have an even application of product then a streak fest any day. Not a fan. Anyway, with a sigh, I knew it was going to take a second coat, so I waited...and waited for the first coat to dry.

     Then I noticed a second pitfall of this polish, it took forever for a single coat of polish to dry. Forty minutes later I gave in and applied a second coat. Maybe I should have waited another ten minutes, cause I had some bubbling that after some fixing is still visible on a couple of my nails. I'm sorry, but I am not someone with the patience to wait for almost an hour to let my nails dry. Even if I can just put on a show and zone, almost an hour, that's just not me.

     I almost gave up and just wrote off this polish, but I really do enjoy the color, it's not quite as bright as it looks in the bottle. I feel it's more of a spring into fall color then a spring/summer look. Still it is a really lovely color. So instead of removing it all and starting over, I went ahead and waited for another thirty to forty minutes, went to get a bite of food and immediately nicked and smudged my nail, so still not dry...great. At least this polish has quite a bit of shine to it that you can't see the nick and smudging unless you know where to look.

     All of this has left me on the fence about Zoya, and granted this is a first impression and I do have a blue Zoya polish to try sometime and I just might. I hope it isn't an every polish same experience kinda thing. Cause at this moment I'm so frustrated by the whole thing that I don't see myself buying this product or recommending it to friends.
