E.L.F Christmas Haul with Mystery Bag!

For Christmas, my wonderful husband said I could spend a hundred dollars on e.l.f products...well not really. It was more like he decided it would be alright if I took advantage of e.l.f's 50% off holiday sale. Upon using his credit card to buy the items I signed him up for e.l.f's email list; in case of an issue with the order.

This is how my second haul happened. I'm relaxing watching some beauty guru's on youtube, my husband comes into the room and says, "I just looked at this email from the site you bought all that makeup from and you should probably buy more." Not believing what I was hearing, I just laughed and told him he was cute and just all around blew him off about it.

He told me he was serious, not only could I get some items (e.l.f's studio line of products) half off but I could get a mystery bag with $27 dollars worth of extra products. He told me to consider it my other holiday gift. Needless to say, I didn't fight him on the issue.

For my order I purchased: 32 piece eye palette - Natural
48 piece beauty black book - Warm
                                         Hydrating face primer
All Over color stick in Persimmon
2 Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powders - St. Lucia
                                         Translucent Matifying Powder
                                         2 Lip stains - Mysterious & Heartbreaker
2 Baked Highlighters - Moonlight Pearls & Blush Gems
                                         Baked Blush in Peachy Cheeky
                                         Mascara Primer
And an e.l.f blush in Glow (from their essential collection)

Then there was my Mystery Bag, which I found to be pretty great in that with the exception of foundation and mascara, you could make a pretty complete look from just the products enclosed.

4 piece Shimmer Gloss Collection consisting of - Confetti,Make A Wish,Tutu Pink &                                    Berry Babe

E.L.F Moisture Stick Review!

About two weeks ago, e.l.f had a lovely sale of which I gladly took the opportunity to stock up. Their entire studio line of products was 50% off. I've been on the hunt for a new moisturizer that would work well for my combination skin.

I decided to give the e.l.f Daily Moisture Stick a shot. The moisture stick is described as a lightweight multi-purpose balm made of a formula containing Grape, Cocoa, Shea, Avocado, Macadamia, Aloe and Chamomile. The stick is 15 g or .53 oz of product. Now when I received the product and went to use it the first time, I couldn't help but note the smell. To me, it smelled like glue; the smell almost put me off of trying the product.
I washed my face and reluctantly, I applied the product which still retained the off putting scent. It also left my face feeling slightly tacky. The first time I applied the product, I decided to not apply any makeup so to see how it made my face feel over time. My fiance noticed the scent about half an hour after application. I didn't appreciate that fact, but as time passed, I felt the tackiness subside and the aroma did fade.

As I've continued to use this product, while I still notice the smell at times when applying, I have also noticed that the moisture stick keeps my cheeks moisturized while not making my T-zone oily, which has been my issue with so many products I've tired. I'm very pleased with the stick over all and I am also happy with the size of the product.

I have also used the stick with my fingers to pat on under my eyes and in the fine lines on my face to freshen up my makeup. This, to me, feels like a bonus use for the product and it's something I'm rather pleased with.

For the regular six dollars the e.l.f moisture stick costs and the way it makes my skin feel, I completely see myself buying this again. It feels light weight on the skin and the scent it does leave can easily be covered or just given some time to fade. A little of this product, I can honestly say, goes a long way!

I really do recommend this product, especially if you have combination skin as the stick will hydrate without adding an oily feel and or look to your skin. Also, if you find your makeup trying to stay in your fine lines this stick doubles as a great little refresher.

I hope you all find this review helpful and have a lot of e.l.f products that I'm going to be covering as I bought two pretty great e.l.f hauls for my Christmas present.

In my next review, look forward to my thoughts on Too Faced bronzer in Snow Bunny.

Barely Even Started.

Well, here we go, haven't had this blog for long and already a little setback. Been completely under the weather, my husband on the other hand has been much worse off than I though. With trips to the emergency room and such, so I have been his caregiver and not much else this past week. We are currently on the mend, so I will be trying to post more frequently. I have a couple of reviews that I plan on writing and a couple of days ago I received a haul from e.l.f. expecting another soon as well.

So far I've tried the e.l.f. Studio Daily Moisture Stick along with their Studio Lip Exfoliator so look forward to reviews on those products soon. I will give some advice don't use a lip exfoliator on chapped lips. To be fair, I did this before I realized that I was getting sick.

Looking forward to being back on my feet and being able to post with some sense of regularity. Thank you to all who have given my ramblings a look so far!

Starting Out. Time Will Tell...

I've been kicking around the idea of starting a blog in my head for weeks. Finally after a bit of a brainstorming session to settle on a name, I find myself here. At the start of a new road, a journey to who really knows where, but I'll take this ride to wherever it may lead.

As someone who has creative tendencies I'm choosing to focus on my enjoyment of makeup, at least from the start of my adventure into the realm of transformation and beauty in all of its various forms.

I have high hopes for what this may become in time. I hope you'll enjoy taking this trip with me and discover some new things with me. I plan on covering hauls and my favorite products to begin. In time I'll also post reviews. I'm just a poor college student living on a rather limited budget but I also believe you can have plenty of beauty on a budget.
